December 20th — Annual Holiday Lights Contest

The judging for the neighborhood Lighting Contest will be held the night of Tuesday, December 20th. Winners will be announced shortly after and awarded a membership dues waiver for next year.

The winners are in for the 2011 Holiday Lighting Contest:

1st place - 7755 Swaps Trail
- This house went all out! They had animated reindeer, inflatable Santas (yes, multiple), an inflatable snowman and tons of lights everywhere

2nd place - 8064 Native Dancer
- A very close second with lot of lights, a huge snowglobe, Santa and reindeer, and snowflakes.

3rd place - 27658 Whirlaway
- Nice lights on house and surrounding trees.

Thursday, August 25th at 9 am - Berrian Mountain Hike
The EMHA will lead a hike to the top of Berrian Mountain on Thursday, August 25th, leaving the trailhead at 9:00 am. The hike takes roughly three hours roundtrip. It is a fairly strenuous uphill climb with an elevation gain of roughly 1000 feet. If it is a nice day, we encourage you to bring a bag lunch to enjoy at the peak, where you can see Denver to the east, Indian Peaks to the north, Mt Evans to the west, and the Conifer Town Center to the south!

Saturday, August 20th at 11 am - Neighborhood Picnic
After a hectic summer, why not enjoy an afternoon in the neighborhood for a relaxing picnic? You can visit with old neighbors and meet new ones. If you have any outdoor games you'd like to bring, we'd love it!

The picnic will be held at the ball field (Prairie Dog and Grizzly Way) on Saturday, August 20th from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Sandwiches, drinks and eating utensils will be provided by EMHA. We'll also provide tables and chairs, and a tent to cover the food table.

We ask that you bring the following to share:

Last name beginning with A-L: Side dish
Last name beginning with M-Z: Dessert

Mark your calendar -- the EMHA 2011 Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 16th at 10am, at the ballfield on Prairie Dog Way.

(Note: if a snowstorm interferes, the 'make up date' will be a week later, Saturday, April 23. FYI Easter is Sunday April 24.)

Saturday, August 28, at 9am — Berrian Mountain Hike
Did you know there is beautiful undeveloped Denver Mountain Park land immediately adjacent to Evergreen Meadows? Berrian Mountain is the peak that towers over Armadillo Trail on the east side of our subdivision.
