Dear Christine,

Welcome to the new Meadowlark online!

As I have said in recent months, we hope to make the Evergreen Meadows Homeowners Association (EMHA) more relevant to more residents. We hope to make it easier for residents to participate in our community by increasing our use of e-mail and the internet as a communications tool. In today's busy world, it is often easier for people to remain involved in the community through these electronic methods.

This new electronic newsletter will provide many benefits for Evergreen Meadows residents, including:

  • Cost savings: each electronic newsletter saves about a dollar in printing and postage costs. Multiplied by hundreds of newsletters issued several times per year, this results in real savings to our residents.
  • Convenience: you can read this newsletter whether you are sitting in your living room, or in a hotel room thousands of miles away. You can share it with others at the click of a mouse.
  • Timeliness: it takes much less time to prepare this electronic newsletter, and we will be able to share news with residents on a timely basis now.
  • Environmental friendliness: this electronic newsletter saves paper.
  • Visual attractiveness: we can use full-color photos and other graphics, which results in a much more attractive newsletter.

We will continue to issue occasional paper Meadowlark newsletters to serve those who cannot receive these editions online. The paper versions will print selected articles from previous online versions, and the news will not be as timely. However, we intend to continue serving all residents, whether or not they have access to e-mail and the internet.

Since this is the first edition of the electronic Meadowlark, we will surely be making many improvements and changes in the coming months. We intend to issue this electronic Meadowlark every other month, and invite your comments, criticisms and suggestions for future editions.

Additionally, we may send special updates as events warrant, such as "breaking news" that may be important for residents to be aware of. We plan to post these newsletters and updates to our website atwww.emha.usfor ease of reference.

This is your homeowners association, and this is your newsletter. We hope that the increased communications to -and among- residents of Evergreen Meadows will help advance the spirit of community that so many people appreciate.

Thanks for any thoughts you have on the new Meadowlark. I look forward to hearing from you and to staying in touch with you throughout the year.

Neighborhood Get Togethers - Any Interest?

Remember when all the neighbors would get together and play bridge or have "happy hour" once a month?  How would you like to rekindle those days and get to know your neighbors in the process?  The EMHA events committee is looking for some new ideas for ways to get all our neighbors together for some fun events.  Any ideas would be helpful, such as progressive dinners, happy hours, backyard fire pit/bonfire parties (in the summer), scrap booking, or anything you can think of.  We can do this with kids or without, depending on the event and peoples wishes.  If you have any ideas or would like to join in a group that may be formed, please call or e-mail Suzanne Piskadlo at (303) 674-7851 or sbpjd97@aol.com.

On another note, if you have little ones and would like to look into a babysitting cooperative with the other mom's in the area, please let me know (see above for contact info).  If we have enough interest we can get together and work out the details.

As we all know, having a babysitter in the area is always helpful.  If you are live in Evergreen Meadows and are interested in babysitting, please send me your name, age, phone number and times you are available so we can make a list to post in the next Meadowlark.

The Christmas Lighting Contest 2007

What fun it was this year to drive around and see all the wonderful lights. Each year it gets better and better. Thank you to all who participated. Remember to visit our web site to find out who the winners were and read about the latest EMHA news.
Easter Egg Hunt

Tired of the snow??  Kick off Spring with us and enjoy our annual

EASTER EGG HUNT!

Come to the baseball field at Grizzly Way and Prairie Dog Way on Saturday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m.  We will have plenty of hidden eggs, breakfast for all, and possibly a visit from the EASTER BUNNY!  If you would like to help stuff eggs for the event, we will have an "egg stuffing party" on March 11th (time and place to be announced).  Please contact Michelle Parr at (720) 981-5547 or budddparr@msn.com if you are interested.

A Few Reminders...
Our annual EMHA Garage Sale will be Friday, July 18th and Saturday the 19th.  Our annual picnic will be on Saturday, August 23rd.  As always, check our website for updates...
Architectural Review
Thinking of changing the color of your house? Planning a new fence?  Getting new roofing? Any changes made to the outside of your property need to be submitted to the Architectural Review committee for approval.  Even if your not a member of the HOA these rules apply.  If you have any questions about the guidelines, please go to www.emha.us, once that page opens got to "Find it here".  Halfway down the list is the Architectural guidelines.  If you have any more questions, please call Freddie Newton at 303-506-2080.  The committee tries to get back to you within 10 days of your request.
Best regards,
