Project started in 2023

Collaboration between Denver Mountain Parks and Evergreen Fire and Rescue (EFR) catalyzed by homeowners’ defensible space activity around the park

Mile High Youth Corps worked in the park for 14  weeks during the summer and fall

Approximately 10 acres to the west of Armadillo Trail treated focusing on dead and dying trees and downfall

EFR will burn piles when conditions are suitable (most likely next winter season)

DMP has received additional funding for more mitigation work in the summer of 2025
