If a fire is burning in the area, you should be on high alert!  Wildfires move fast so don't delay in getting ready to go.  Don't count on your cellphone working as towers quickly become overloaded.  Don't count on a quick trip in your car as there are thousands of other people who will be trying to leave.  The best thing you can do is be prepared before a fire is burning.  Have a plan and practice it.

If you notice a fire ignite, CALL 911 immediately.  Be concise and specific with information you provide to dispatchers.

DO NOT WAIT FOR AN EVACUATION ORDER - GET OUT OF EVERGREEN EARLY AND ASSESS THE SITUATION BEFORE DECIDING TO RETURN.  GET OUT EARLY!
